About us

Spring of 2007 - We have been blessed with a donor who has been worried about our country being attacked by terrorists and wants help from the Blessed Mother.  This person has approved a sum to encourage schools to establish a garden and pray to Our Blessed Mother.  We provide the statue for the garden.  We still provide books, tapes, and other requests to our Elementary Schools.  Each one received a framed photo of our new Pope!  They are truly Catholic NOW!

9/12/2006 - We have been blessed with many more contributions from the wonderful people who have learned about our good works helping the now 99 schools in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul/Minneapolis.  Some schools have consolidated so our number of schools has changed, but the needs are greater.

Our important need right now is to have more schools respond to our "wish list" which we send out to all 99.  Some schools think it is "too good to be true" and do not respond.

It is TRUE! We do send out hundreds of books, posters, statues, dvd's and speakers as requested every year!  This year every school receives a framed photo of Pope Benedict XVI with their "wish list".

9/18/2005 - We have finally caught up on a lot of our work of helping the school libraries and have time to refresh our web site.  We have been so very busy working on our projects to earn money for our acquisitions, purchasing, wrapping and delivering that we haven't had time for the web site.  However, this year is a very important year because we will be at the Eucharistic Congress in October.  So people will be able to get to know us at this event.  We've added photos of our work to the web site.  We've compiled a great list of Catholic approved sex education references and a list of some of our favorite materials.  We have learned that the most important time to educate our children in the Catholic Faith is during elementary school.  In these three years we have been donating books, more and more teachers are requesting "Lives of the Saints" and stories about the Pope!

6/10/03 - We talked to librarians, administrators and pastors who praise our efforts to help student learning.  We know just how many schools cannot afford to add to their libraries.  Some schools have no libraries.  Some only have empty shelves.  What we dream of doing is soliciting contributions from education-minded people who want to help others to be able to read the way they did in their grade school days.

While we cannot afford to do this overnight, we can make a difference every time a child can pick up a book to learn.  We are a group of volunteers whose work does not cost the Archdiocese anything but goodwill.  We will keep you informed of any developments through our web site.

8/9/02 - We were incorporated to promote the education of children through the acquisition and donation to Catholic elementary school libraries of books, videotapes, DVD's and other audio and visual learning materials and the procurement of speakers for educational purposes.  We also donate crucifixes and statues for classrooms, Bibles, Lives of the Saints, and every school has a POPE chart!

Our mission is to supplement the Catholic elementary schools in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul/Minneapolis Minnesota with additional teaching aids as needed by teachers.

We plan to achieve this with funding from concerned Catholics who recognize this need and understand the lack of financial ability on the part of some parishes.  We are a 501.c(3) organization made up of all volunteers.

The Catholic Learning Society started to deliver books, tapes and posters to the 104 Catholic grade schools in the Archdiocese.  Not all responded with a "wish list" when we sent out our letters in April of 2002.
